Bitso is looking for a Global Head of Compensation to join our team. We're one of the fastest growing and highly trusted crypto exchanges in the LATAM, and this year we are expanding our products beyond crypto and into stocks and brokerage services.
We have a strong compensation foundation, and we need a strategic leader to guide our compensation strategy through this next phase of growth. This role is perfect for a senior-level compensation professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is passionate about using compensation and equity to drive business success.
We're a remote-first company with 600 employees in 32 countries. While our primary markets are LATAM and the US, your work will have a global impact. This role reports to the VP of People and will manage a small, dedicated team.
What you'll do:
- Strategy & Philosophy: Elevate our existing compensation philosophy and strategy to attract, retain, and motivate top-tier talent in our key markets. You'll ensure our approach is competitive, equitable, and aligned with our business goals.
- Equity Programs: Lead the evolution of our equity incentive plans. You'll design and implement a strategy that leverages equity as a powerful tool to reward performance and drive long-term commitment.
- Liquidity Scenarios: Act as the subject matter expert and lead the company through potential liquidity events, including secondary and tender offers, M&A, and a potential IPO. You'll be a key partner to Finance, Executive Leadership, and the Board of Directors in these critical moments.
- Compensation Cycles: Own and manage our twice-yearly compensation and rewards cycles. This includes everything from market analysis and budget planning to execution and communication.
- Market Intelligence: Stay on top of global and regional compensation trends, especially within the fintech and crypto space. You'll use this data to inform our strategy and ensure we're always ahead of the curve.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of compensation professionals. You'll empower them to excel and grow their careers at Bitso.
- Cross-functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with People Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Legal, and senior leaders to ensure our compensation programs are integrated and effective across the organization.
What we're looking for:
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in global compensation, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role (Director or Sr. Director level).
- Global Expertise: Proven experience designing and managing compensation programs across multiple international markets, with specific knowledge of LATAM and the US.
- Equity Focus: Deep expertise in equity compensation, including designing plans and navigating liquidity events. Experience with pre-IPO companies is highly desirable.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Communication & Influence: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. You can build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strategic Mindset: A strategic thinker who can connect compensation programs to broader business objectives and cultural values.
- Team Player: You're a collaborative leader who can build strong relationships and work effectively with diverse teams in a remote setting.
