THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a FULL STACK SOFTWARE ENGINEER to our PARTNERS INTEGRATIONS team in PORTUGAL!

As an engineer, you will be responsible for developing highly scalable services making sure that best software engineer practices are followed. You will have plenty of opportunities to take part in architectural decisions, suggest improvements and interact with the product team and other business stakeholders in a highly collaborative agile environment.

As a senior developer over time you are expected to be able to design from scratch highly scalable systems, deliver well with no guidance, become an expert in the business rules and architecture of our complex environment and mentor less experienced developers.

As part of the Partner Integrations team, you will be responsible for designing, building scalable APIs, the integration process between Gympass and partners (Club Management Systems), and implementing new features at the Partners Portal. This team is responsible for some products such as booking and access control APIs. Just to give an example, all bookings that we have at Gympass are using this API.

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve services focusing on performance, scalability, and resilience;
  • Support existing systems looking to enhance functionality, increase scale, and transform in new ways to meet our product demands;
  • Participate in the development of backend API as well as Web Desktop applications (BFFs and front-end services) that support the team’s scope;
  • Work in a collaborative and agile environment that prioritizes people over process and is laser-focused on productivity;
  • Work with cutting-edge technologies and edge cases on a global scale;

WHO YOU ARE

  • Consolidated experience in full stack development;
  • Solid experience with ReactJS and proficient in one or more backend programming languages (Kotlin/Java/Ruby/Go/C++/etc.);
  • Experience with monitoring, observability, and KPIs tracking and experience with micro frontend is considered a plus;
  • Experienced in designing and developing complex modern web applications;
  • Experienced in developing RESTful/GraphQL web services collaborating with backend teams to create mocks, define payloads and follow the HTTP best practices;
  • Consolidated experience working with modern agile product development teams of engineers, product managers, and designers;
  • Experienced in working with SQL technology such as PostgreSQL, MySQL understanding common use cases and performance pitfalls;
  • Experienced in implementing prototypes and in practices and concepts such as MVP, A/B testing, and feature toggles for rolling-out features to production;
  • Proficient in a broad range of common UX patterns;
  • Good understanding of how a browser works behind the scenes;
  • Experience with automated, unit, and behavioral testing of react components;
  • Communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams located in several countries with different cultures;
  • An engineer with advanced proficiency in English.
