The Senior Competitive Intelligence Manager role sits in the marketing organization. You will work as part of a virtual team of competitive intelligence experts at Illumio. This position will take the lead on a specific set of competitors and use cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building competitive analysis from the ground up, requiring strong research, technical, analytical and story creation skill sets to create win against strategies.

  • Creating competitive tools including battle cards, blogs, win stories, playbooks, and technical competitor drill downs.

  • Conducting frequent post-mortem win loss interviews against competitors.

  • Regularly presenting on webinars and face-to-face workshops on the competition for sales, product management and systems engineering teams.

  • Supporting deals in the pipeline with strategic advice on how to beat out the competition.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of product or technical marketing experience with at least 2 years direct experience building competitive intelligence.

  • BA/BS degree or higher

  • Strong technical acumen to build competitive drill down profiles including a good understanding of desktop and server virtualization platforms, cloud, DevOps, networking, firewalls, IDS/IPS, SDN technologies and Security/Trust Zones is highly desired.

  • Exceptionally strong technical competitive research and analytical skills to build competitive insights from the ground up.

  • Strong story telling skill sets with the ability to cull out market advantages and strategies for successfully outmaneuvering competitors.

  • Insatiable curiosity with the ability to proactively collect and create technical competitive insights from a wide range of resources.

  • Strong presentation skills with direct experience conducting webinars, face-to-face workshops for sales, systems engineers and product managers.

  • Experience working in a small company or a start-up, where flexibility, initiative, and ownership are keys to success.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact, communicate and build relationships with marketing, sales, systems engineers and product management.

  • Effective at working independently and in a team setting.

  • Ability to travel up to 20%

Pay Range:

USD $179,000.00 - $215,000.00

The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, or applicable laws.
