About the Role

As the Vice President of Solutions Engineering, Americas, you will hold a senior leadership position responsible for the performance, growth, and development of Illumio’s Solutions Engineering organization across North and Latin America. You will drive the success of our pre-sales organization, ensure technical alignment with customer needs, and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Your role will be pivotal in scaling our go-to-market (GTM) technical execution, aligning regional strategies with global business objectives, and equipping our teams to deliver exceptional value to customers and partners. You will serve as a key executive partner to Sales, Product, and Engineering, helping shape solutions that solve real customer challenges and accelerate Illumio’s growth.

Your Impact:

  • Leadership & Strategy: Lead, coach, and inspire the Solutions Engineering teams across the Americas. Define and execute a unified pre-sales vision aligned with Illumio’s GTM strategy.

  • Scaling the Organization: Build, hire, and expand diverse, high-performing teams. Create scalable structures and processes to support Illumio’s growth trajectory.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Professional Services to ensure seamless execution of customer journeys and feedback loops.

  • Customer Advocacy: Serve as a trusted advisor for C-suite executives and technical leaders at strategic accounts, ensuring Illumio solutions deliver measurable value.

  • Operational Excellence: Drive consistency and effectiveness in pre-sales motions, including workload balancing, issue resolution, and technical validation frameworks.

  • Market Presence: Represent Illumio at key customer, industry, and analyst events; evangelize the company’s thought leadership in Zero Trust and breach containment.

Your Toolkit:

  • 15+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Technical Sales, or Pre-Sales leadership roles, with at least 5+ years in VP or senior executive capacity.

  • Demonstrated experience scaling pre-sales organizations in enterprise software, SaaS, or cybersecurity.

  • Proven success working with large enterprise customers across multiple industries and geographies.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of networking, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, and enterprise IT architectures. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.

  • Proven Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading large, geographically dispersed Solutions Engineering or pre-sales organizations. Experience scaling teams in high-growth SaaS or cybersecurity companies.

  • Strategic Mindset: Track record of setting vision and strategy, driving operational excellence, and aligning technical execution with business outcomes.

  • Executive Presence: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging both technical practitioners and executive leadership.

  • Collaboration & Influence: Strong ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and align teams toward common goals.

  • Cultural Leadership: Known for fostering positive team culture, collaboration, and empowerment.

  • Willingness to travel across the Americas as required (~40–50%).
