Job Summary

The Clinical Research Budgets Specialist supports site-side clinical research operations by owning the
development, review, and negotiation of clinical trial budgets and contract payment terms on behalf of
domestic and international research sites within the Iterative Health Site Network. This role requires
comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities, limited
standardization, and frequent ambiguity.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who can independently assess situations, make
sound judgment calls, and drive budget and payment-related issues to resolution while partnering
with internal site teams and external sponsors/CROs across multiple geographies.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and negotiate site-level clinical trial budgets and payment terms with sponsors and
CROs for U.S. and international research sites
- Interpret study protocols, schedules of assessments, and evolving study requirements to ensure
accurate and defensible site budgets
- Account for country-specific considerations such as currency, tax/VAT, payment cadence, and local
site practices
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or missing cost considerations and proactively propose solutions
- Ensure budgets appropriately capture site costs, including per-patient procedures, startup activities,
administrative fees, and pass-through expenses
- Collaborate with site leadership, research coordinators, regulatory teams, and finance partners
- Navigate competing priorities while supporting timely study start-up
- Support alignment between CTAs and negotiated budget/payment terms
- Review and manage budget and payment amendments
- Serve as a primary point of contact for sponsor/CRO budget discussions
- Maintain clear documentation and audit-ready records

You Have:
- Comfort with ambiguity, moving targets, and frequent pivots
- Self-starter who builds structure or expands on limited structure
- Strong ownership and accountability
- Adaptable and resourceful with sound judgement

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of site-side clinical research budgeting or trial finance experience
- Strong understanding of site-level trial operations
- Ability to make informed decisions in ambiguous situations
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across regions

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting international clinical research sites
- Familiarity with VAT, currency exchange, and regional payment norms
- Startup or high-growth environment experience
- Experience using CTMS i.e. RealTime
- MCA or billing compliance familiarity
- Experience building processes or tools from scratch

New York pay range
$100,000$120,000 USD
