The Opportunity
Ledn is looking for a full-time Senior Financial Analyst who is passionate about bitcoin and improving the current financial systems to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for maintaining an accurate accounting book of records and providing financial analysis to support management and business decisions.
About the Role:
- Maintain full cycle accounting records, including the preparation and processing of monthly accounting journal entries, account reconciliations, and working papers.
- Handle reconciliations for a large set of daily transactions between system reports and external statements to ensure transactions are recorded accurately in the books and investigate any discrepancies that arise.
- Write SQL queries and collaborate with the Data and Operations teams to prepare month-end reports.
- Develop, automate and test the reconciliation process using various tools like Snowflake, Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Develop new and adjust or enhance existing accounting processes to meet the changes in business requirements and growth, including new products, changes in product features, and changes in business or operational processes.
- Support the global consolidation and reporting processes, including accounting for the impact of foreign exchange rates, digital assets revaluation, and elimination of intercompany balances and investment in subsidiaries.
- Collaborate and develop relationships with business partners and other stakeholders.
- Document internal control policies and procedures.
- Support external financial audits and government tax audits by preparing requested documentation and analysis.
- Identify automation opportunities, process improvements, internal control improvements, and lead implementation of associated solutions.
- Create ad hoc analyses to quickly address issues or questions, and communicate findings to the stakeholders to take corrective actions.
- Other related activities when requested.
What You Bring to Ledn:
- 3-5 years of full cycle accounting experience dealing with a complex environment and involving subsidiary accounting, reporting and consolidations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business/ Commerce.
- Professional accounting designation, completed or in progress, is required.
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel (or Google Sheets) and SQL proficiency (previous experience with Snowflake or other data warehouses is an asset).
- Strong analytical and database skills with proven ability to deal with large volumes of unstructured data from a variety of sources and construct a path to support relevant business decisions.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and consolidation of financial statements.
- Strong working knowledge of multi-currency transactions, multinational environment and related impacts on the financial statements.
- Superior analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities within a highly demanding environment.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check if selected.
- Fluent in verbal and written English.
Nice To Have
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Background and understanding of financial services products (loans, trading, savings).
- Experience working at a startup or in fintech.
- Experience in supporting business growth.
- Understanding of crypto networks, Bitcoin and Ethereum, is an asset.
