We are seeking an impact-oriented Sr. Quantitative Researcher to join our UX Research team. You should be passionate about connecting quantitative methodologies with deep human insight in order to drive decision making, uncover opportunities and provide actionable measurement solutions. In this role, you’ll act as a high-visibility strategic partner who seamlessly translates rigorous and high velocity research into clear implications and calls to action. Your stakeholders will span Product, Design, Engineering, Product Marketing and Data Science, and you’ll be responsible for prioritizing work across those functions and communicating your rationale transparently. You’ll adeptly connect the dots of existing research and weave those into holistic narratives that partners can quickly action upon.

The Impact You’ll Have
Role responsibilities:
- Own the company wide reporting of experiential metrics (like NPS) for Nextdoor
- Guide cross functional teams to draw meaningful insights from research and communicate them clearly and powerfully to stakeholders
- Lead cross-functional brainstorms, discussions, research lit reviews and insight shareouts
- Effectively socialize research to ensure that it’s understood, internalized and acted upon by teams across the business
- Lead purposeful relationship-building with a wide array of partners (e.g., Design, Product, Engineering), other insight-generating functions and beyond.
What You’ll Bring To The Team
6-8 years driving strategic research projects at an agency, in-house, or both for technology companies, mobile software products and systems or in the media & advertising space. And/or the ability to perform at an advanced level in the domain
- Proven experience understanding community behaviors at scale
Quantitative Research Tools & Survey Expertise
- Advanced proficiency in Qualtrics, including survey programming, quotas, and embedded variables
- Ability to manage the Nextdoor Qualtrics directory, including user access and license monitoring
- Experience creating automations and workflows that integrate company datasets with Qualtrics
- Familiarity with deploying in-app surveys across web and mobile experiences using Qualtrics or similar tools
- Experience collaborating with Engineering to deploy and monitor in-app survey programs (e.g., using feature flags)
- Comfortable serving as a workspace admin, maintaining data hygiene and system organization
- Basic understanding of CSS for customizing survey and email themes (collaboration with Design support available)
Data Skills & SQL Proficiency
- Strong ability to write and debug complex SQL queries to support data-driven research
- Leverages AI tools to increase speed, accuracy, and reduce dependency on Data Science partners
- Understanding of how company databases are structured and function (bonus: ability to interpret GitHub documentation)
- Nice to have: Experience creating SQL-based dashboards in Databricks (or similar) that connect research insights with platform metrics
Open-Ended Feedback Analysis
- Skilled in using tools such as Enterpret, Qualtrics Text iQ, or similar platforms to analyze unstructured opentext data
- Experience building taxonomies and frameworks to classify and synthesize open-ended feedback (e.g., NPS or customer verbatims)
Research Design & Execution
- Knowledge of quantitative research methodologies such as TURF, MaxDiff, Pricing Exercises, and Q-Sort
- Ability to select the right methodology based on research objectives and business needs
- Experience managing vendor relationships for sample buying or full-service study execution
- Understanding of sample sizing and response rate modeling, including email volume planning based on historical performance
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Data Fluency
- Comfortable working closely with Data Science, Customer Support, and Finance to align research with company metrics and performance drivers
- Proficient in using BI tools such as Looker, Databricks, and Datadog to interpret key trends and contextualize research findings
- Ability to connect quantitative insights with platform data, driving actionable recommendations for the business

- Experience leading an individual or team is also a plus
- Bachelor's Degree (minimum requirement)
Rewards
Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create our total rewards package. Compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications. Compensation may also vary by geography.
The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $190,000 - $205,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role.
We expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With quarterly vesting, your first vest date will take place within 3 months of your start date.
