The Impact You’ll Make
As Nextdoor’s first Client Partner in Canada, you will play a foundational role in launching and growing our advertising business in the market. This is a true build-from-zero opportunity where you will be responsible for developing a pipeline, establishing relationships with advertisers and agencies, and driving new business across the full sales cycle. You will act as Nextdoor’s voice in Canada, bringing market insights back to inform our product, positioning, and go-to-market strategy, while also helping brands understand how to connect with neighbors in a meaningful and locally relevant way. This role requires someone who is both strategic and hands-on, comfortable setting direction while also executing day to day and building momentum in a new and evolving market.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and execute a Canada-specific sales strategy aligned with Nextdoor’s broader ads business
- Prospect and close net-new business with brands and agencies across key Canadian verticals
- Build senior-level relationships with decision-makers across advertisers and agency partners
- Create compelling, multi-funnel campaign proposals tailored to advertiser objectives
- Maintain a strong pipeline and deliver accurate forecasting in a new market environment
- Partner cross-functionally with U.S. teams (Ad Solutions, Marketing, Product) to ensure campaign success
- Provide ongoing feedback to help localize and improve our offering for Canadian advertisers
- Consistently meet or exceed revenue quotas
- Ability to tell compelling stories with data
What You’ll Bring To The Team
- 6+ years of experience in advertising sales with a strong track record of new business development
- Deep understanding of the Canadian advertising and agency landscape, with existing relationships preferred
- Experience with Salesforce and prospecting tools (e.g., LinkedIn, Pathmatics)
- Advanced sales, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong understanding of platform-based media buying, including marketing campaigns aimed at brand awareness as well as driving lower funnel consumer action
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Experience working in startup or high-growth environments, with comfort navigating ambiguity
- High level of ownership, accountability, and self-direction
- A passion for community building, to inspire a more inclusive team and diversity of thought, both at Nextdoor and in your own neighborhoods
- Eagerness to explore and apply AI and emerging technologies to reimagine how work gets done
Rewards
Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create our total rewards package. Compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
The compensation range for this role includes a base salary + commission structure with a 50/50 split. Commission will vary depending on your achievement of sales-related goals and objectives. The budgeted OTE (on-target earnings) inclusive of base + commission is in the range of CAD $190,000-$230,000 (base salary of CAD $95,000-$115,000) on an annualized basis. The salary range will be determined by the candidate’s geographic location.
We expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With quarterly vesting, your first vest date will take place within 3 months of your start date.
