Posted on Mar 4, 2026

Nonco is a pioneering institutional digital asset trading firm operating with a unique non-custodial model that integrates counterpart risk management, settlement optimization, and robust operational frameworks. We are building the next-generation crypto brokerage where human expertise, risk discipline, and world-class technology converge.

As we continue to scale, we are strengthening our operational foundations. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Middle Office & Risk Controls Analyst to take ownership of the function, enhance existing processes, and push the organization toward institutional-grade operational and risk standards.

Role Overview

This is a senior role responsible for overseeing, optimizing, and scaling the full Middle Office function. You will take over existing tools, workflows, and reconciliations already built internally, and evolve them into fully automated, auditable, and risk-controlled systems. You will collaborate directly with Trading, Tech, Risk, and Finance, acting as the operational guardian of trade integrity, PnL accuracy, counterpart exposure, and settlement risk. The ideal candidate has strong quantitative and technical skills, deep understanding of the digital asset trading lifecycle, and a risk-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence & Trade Integrity

  • Own the full trade capture process, ensuring all trades across exchanges, OTC counterparties, and internal systems are accurately booked, reconciled, and risk-validated.
  • Strengthen existing reconciliation frameworks (Python, SQL, dashboards) and evolve them into automated, scalable processes with real-time alerts.
  • Oversee P&L generation, position management, and exposure reporting with institutional accuracy.
  • Manage and mitigate settlement risk by overseeing the full pre- and post-trade settlement process, identifying timing mismatches, detecting potential counterparty or operational failures, and ensuring rapid root-cause analysis and resolution of settlement exceptions.

Risk Controls & Exposure Management

  • Implement and continuously refine risk controls, including intraday exposure monitoring, counterparty limit tracking, liquidity risk assessment, and settlement-timing analysis.
  • Build frameworks to detect anomalies, suspicious patterns, unusual PnL swings, or operational red flags.

Process Architecture & Automation

  • Take existing Middle Office tooling (Python scripts, SQL pipelines, Google Sheets dashboards, Grafana monitors) and reinforce them with proper architecture, documentation, and automation.
  • Design new operational workflows with high resilience: self-diagnostics, logging, alerting, and error recovery.
  • Lead integrations with new exchanges, market-makers, and settlement platforms, ensuring robust pre- and post-trade processes.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as the main operational counterpart to Trading, ensuring the desk has real-time and accurate insights.
  • Liaise with Finance and Back Office for settlement, cash movements, and month-end close.

Oversight & Governance

  • Maintain full documentation of processes, SLAs, SOPs, and operational controls.
  • Drive KPIs around operational accuracy, reconciliation timeliness, and risk-incident reporting.
  • Build an audit-ready operational environment that meets institutional requirements.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 4–7 years of experience in Middle Office, Risk, Operations, or Trading Support roles (digital asset experience is a strong plus).
  • Deep understanding of the trade lifecycle, settlement processes, market structure, and counterparty exposure.
  • Strong technical proficiency:
  • SQL (advanced queries, data modeling, optimization)
  • Python (data pipelines, reconciliation logic, automation)
  • Excel/Google Sheets (advanced formulas, dashboards)
  • Experience working with exchange APIs, trading systems, OMS/EMS, or risk platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with an extreme attention to detail and a risk-first mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort interfacing with traders, engineers, and senior leadership.
  • Advanced English required.

Preferred

  • Experience building or maintaining real-time reconciliation systems.
  • Prior work in crypto trading, market-making, brokerage, or FX.
  • Understanding of blockchain asset flows, stablecoin mechanics, and exchange settlement.
  • Experience with Grafana, monitoring systems, or automated alerting frameworks.
  • Background implementing controls frameworks (SOX-like, operational risk policies, exception governance).
