The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Assurance (QA) leader to establish and lead testing strategy for our blockchain network that includes a cross border payments product, decentralized protocol developed on Quorum & Tessera with a suite of critical infra dependencies. Candidates will drive a pivotal role to transform our quality assurance strategy, processes, and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Quality Strategy:

• Develop, implement, and own the end-to-end QA strategy, methodology, processes, and policies tailored for our Fintech Blockchain platform that includes protocol, network infrastructure, node operations, SDKs/APIs, and end-user applications.

Infrastructure & Protocol QA

• Collaborate with Protocol Engineers to define validation and conformance tests for core blockchain logic (e.g., consensus, state transition, transaction processing).
• Develop integration test suites for multi-node environments, simulating real-world failure modes and network partitions.
• Build test plans for validators, node clients, and protocol upgrades including rollback and hard fork scenarios.

Test Management & Tools:

• Evaluate, select, implement, and manage suitable test management systems (e.g., JIRA with Xray/Zephyr, TestRail) for efficient test case creation, execution, and tracking.
• Build test harnesses for network simulations, protocol fuzzing, and contract-level validation.
• Establish and maintain a comprehensive and well-organized test catalogue/repository covering functional, non-functional (performance, security), integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Define the strategy for test data management, especially considering the sensitive nature of financial data and blockchain immutability.

Quality Governance:

• Define, implement, and govern critical quality gates within the CI/CD pipeline and release management process.
• Act as the primary gatekeeper for product releases, ensuring all quality criteria, security checks, and compliance requirements are met before deployment.
• Oversee defect management lifecycle, including prioritization, tracking, and resolution verification.

Team Leadership & Execution:

• Recruit, mentor, and lead QA engineers (manual/automation) as the company grows. Initially, be prepared to be hands-on with test planning, test case design, and execution (both manual and automated) where necessary.
• Oversee the planning, design, and execution of all testing activities.

Collaboration & Improvement:

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers and DevOps Engineers to understand requirements, identify risks, and ensure quality is built-in throughout the development process.
• Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes, tools, and techniques.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in QA, Fintech, and Blockchain testing.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proven track record (5+ years) in Quality Assurance leadership roles, with demonstrable experience in leading QA initiatives or teams.
• Strong experience in defining, implementing, and managing QA strategies, processes, and policies from scratch or significantly improving existing ones.
• Deep understanding of various testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), levels, and types (Black Box, White Box, Grey Box, Functional, Non-Functional, Regression, UAT, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with test management tools (e.g., Xray, JIRA plugins) and defect tracking systems (e.g., JIRA).
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and integrating QA within Agile/Scrum/Kanban environments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Direct experience working in a Fintech or Financial Services environment.
• Direct experience testing Blockchain-based applications (understanding of smart contracts, consensus mechanisms, nodes, explorers is a plus).
• Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Truffle Suite, Hardhat).
• Experience with API testing (Postman, RestAssured) and performance testing tools (JMeter, k6).
• Knowledge of security testing principles (OWASP) relevant to web and blockchain applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g.,Github, Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Experience working in regulated environments and understanding compliance requirements (e.g., MAS regulations, GDPR).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB).
