About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer to join our company to build a revolutionary AI-powered solution (“Orva”) intended for use in hospitals and surgical settings (orvahealth.com). You will report to the VP of Product based in the US and collaborate remotely with colleagues around the globe. You will work closely in person with a multidisciplinary team in our UAE office located in Abu Dhabi.

The Senior Product Designer will work at the cutting edge of design, strategy, healthcare, and technology to help envision, research, design, test, iterate, and develop a multi-modal product that will have a positive impact on both hospital operations and patient outcomes.

What You’ll Do:

• Execute iterative product design process as part of an agile sprint cadence, working directly with product managers and developers to maintain product specifications and design system definitions and documentation in Figma.
• Collaborate with the product team and to conduct research, define requirements, create concepts and screen designs, test, refine, and deliver new features packaged with corresponding specifications and documentation.
• Collaborate with real clinical practitioners who interact with patients on a daily basis to conduct sound execution of discovery research and user testing.
• Own and actively participate in the rapid product delivery lifecycle, including prototyping, testing, and iterating to deliver impactful features efficiently.
• Use our newly established proprietary design system in Figma, as well as Google (Material 3) and Apple (HIG) guidelines to create multimodal designs for user interfaces (both GUI and VUI) for native apps and progressive web applications.
• Manage assigned design tasks, stories, bugs, etc. on Confluence and Jira, providing clear and consistent communications to the product and development teams.
• Clearly articulate technical concepts to non-design colleagues, persuade others to your design rationale based on business outcomes, defend the people you’re designing for, and know when to disagree and commit.
• Lead design for a wide range of initiatives for Orva products, including brand exploration and marketing, research of design patterns and best practices, competitive and comparative design analysis, moodboarding, brand and collateral design, website design, social media, content and content strategy, etc.

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree or significant product design experience may be considered in place of a degree
• At least 3 years of relevant product design experience with a blend of UI/UX experience for AI tools/products
• Experience working in a lean startup environment
• Experience establishing and adhering to a design system, and library with developer integration
• Prior experience building, managing, extending, or otherwise upgrading design systems in Figma, or other advanced uses of Figma
• Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects, etc.), Miro, and other software tools necessary for product design delivery
• Knowledge of industry best practices and standards for various technology platforms including web and native mobile
• Willingness to step into other areas: product requirements; product testing; relationship management; etc.
• Experience or willingness to learn voice technology and voice-first design patterns
• Ability to clearly communicate ideas and concepts
• Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-moving, remote environment where collaboration, communication, and ownership are key
• Ability to commute to the office in Abu Dhabi

• Experience with clinical healthcare products
• Consumer-facing design product experience
