Field Assistant
We are looking for someone to support field activities and assist in agricultural research projects in Assis – SP. The role includes data collection on soil, soil porewater, climate, rock powder application, and plant growth, as well as assisting in the maintenance of equipment used in field research. This position is ideal for candidates with a technical degree or undergraduate background in Agronomy, Soil Science, Environmental Sciences, or related fields, who enjoy working outdoors and have an interest in agriculture and sustainability.

Responsibilities:
Assist in scientific fieldwork on farms and test areas, supporting the setup of agricultural experiments.
Collect and organize data on soil porewater, climate, rock powder application, and crop productivity (biomass and yield).
Help install, maintain, and monitor equipment (e.g., soil moisture sensors, lysimeters, weather stations).
Prepare soil, water, plant, and rock samples for shipment to laboratories.
Follow technical guidelines and accurately record field activities.
Work collaboratively with field and research teams.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Technical degree or undergraduate degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, Environmental Sciences, Geosciences, or related fields.
Hands-on experience with fieldwork and agricultural activities.
Basic knowledge of soil, water, and plant data collection.
Familiarity with agricultural equipment (e.g., sensors, weather stations) is a plus.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to data quality.
Valid driver’s license and availability to travel frequently to rural field sites (approximately 70% of the time).
Nice to Have:
Ability to calibrate agricultural sensors and equipment.
Ability to interpret soil or crop data.

Independently solve practical issues that arise during fieldwork.
Maintain clear communication with the technical team.
Follow protocols and adapt work methods based on guidance.
