The Opportunity

As an Engineering Manager at XP Health, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of vision care technology. You will lead a team of talented engineers in building innovative solutions that enhance user experience and make quality eye care accessible to everyone. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to drive the development of new features and improvements. Your technical expertise and leadership skills will be crucial in ensuring the success of our engineering initiatives and in fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Be both highly technical and an effective people manager
  • Support and grow the team's technical talent and engineering craftsmanship
  • Lead teams that deliver on multiple projects of increasing dependencies in an ambiguous or high-impact area
  • Work with your team and cross functional partners to define and influence strategy
  • Drive roadmap creation and execution
  • Collaborate with various functions, drive engineering initiatives and have an impact at an organizational level
  • Participate in technical design
  • Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals
  • Work effectively with cross functional partners and stakeholders to set and achieve optimal outcomes
  • Partner with leadership to influence and drive org design, contribution and prioritization

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management (3+ years of management experience)
  • Strong technical background with experience in software development (5+ years of IC engineering experience)
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
  • Proficient in managing and delivering complex projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and align engineering goals with company objectives.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with our tech stack (Python, React, JavaScript) is preferred, but we value strong technical skills regardless of specific languages.
